Barry Bruder is a leader in Microcurrent Neurofeedback (MCN), a gentle, noninvasive approach designed to support the brain and nervous system’s natural ability to regulate, reset, and restore balance. As co-founder of IASIS Technologies, which he developed alongside his wife Laura, Barry has helped advance the clinical use and understanding of microcurrent-based neuromodulation.
With a Bachelor of Science degree and advanced certifications in neurofeedback, Barry brings decades of experience working with individuals navigating stress, trauma, anxiety, and neurological challenges. His approach is grounded in a deep respect for the nervous system—prioritizing safety, consistency, and regulation rather than force or symptom suppression.
Barry’s work has been especially focused on supporting veterans, active-duty military, law enforcement, and first responders—communities often impacted by post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury (TBI). His involvement helped contribute to research conducted through the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and the Veterans Administration, including a pilot study published in Brain Injury (2017), which demonstrated measurable improvements in brain function following microcurrent neurofeedback.
Additional clinical outcome research, including findings published in the Journal of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners (2023), has shown improvements in symptoms of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and overall quality of life. Ongoing research continues to explore the role of Microcurrent Neurofeedback in areas such as cognitive function, mood regulation, and neurological resilience.Barry also shares educational insight into the potential supportive role of MCN for individuals on the autism spectrum, particularly in areas related to communication and executive functioning, always emphasizing that each individual’s experience is unique.
In addition to his clinical work, Barry is the founder of Clearpath, a nonprofit initiative focused on providing accessible support for individuals navigating trauma, recovery, and major life transitions.
Barry lives in Southern California with his wife Laura. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Ruby and Skyler.
Barry’s work is guided by a simple principle:
When the nervous system begins to feel safe, clarity, calm, and meaningful change can follow.
