FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Micro Current Neurofeedback?

Micro Current Neurofeedback (MCN) uses extremely gentle electrical signals to help the brain reset out of stuck patterns related to stress, anxiety, trauma, or overwhelm. It is passive, safe, and effective for many people.

How many neurofeedback sessions do most people need?

Most clients complete a series of 10–20 sessions, each lasting about 30 minutes. Some notice changes quickly, while others benefit from a steadier pace. Barry will guide you based on your individual response. Some with more complex conditions may require more sessions.

Is neurofeedback painful or invasive?

No. The microcurrent used is extremely subtle and does not create any sensation. Most clients describe sessions as relaxing.

Do I need to do coaching with Barry to receive neurofeedback?

Not at all. Coaching is completely optional. Most clients choose neurofeedback alone. Coaching is available only for those who want additional emotional or practical support.

What does coaching with Barry involve?

Coaching draws on Barry’s 36+ years of experience in trauma recovery, grief support, emotional wellness, and lifestyle guidance. Sessions are grounded, steady, and focused on helping you reduce stress, navigate life transitions, and create clarity.

What kinds of issues can coaching help with?

Coaching can support you with trauma, grief, stress, overwhelm, relationship communication, life transitions, and rebuilding resilience or direction.

Does neurofeedback work for trauma or PTSD?

Many clients with trauma histories benefit from MCN, as it supports the nervous system in shifting out of “stuck” patterns. Results vary by individual, but many report reduced hyperarousal, anxiety, emotional reactivity, and improved resilience.

How long does a coaching session last?

Sessions are typically 50–60 minutes, depending on your needs.

What is Barry’s background?

Barry has been a life coach and Chaplain for 36+ years, specializing in trauma recovery and grief. In the early 1990s, he trained directly with Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross and led trauma and loss workshops across four states. Can children or teens receive neurofeedback?

Yes, in many cases neurofeedback can help younger clients with anxiety, emotional regulation, focus challenges, or recovery from trauma. Barry will discuss suitability during your consultation.

What happens during the first appointment?

You’ll review your needs, history, and goals with Barry. If neurofeedback is appropriate, you may begin your first session the same day. Coaching can also be discussed as an optional addition, if desired.

How soon will I notice results?

Some clients notice changes within the first 1–3 sessions. Others notice shifts over several weeks. Every nervous system responds at its own pace.

Is this a medical treatment?

No. Neurofeedback and coaching are wellness services designed to support regulation, clarity, and resilience. They do not diagnose or treat medical conditions.
